Wuxi Hosts National Conference on the Development of Sports Tourism
On July 6, the city of Wuxi in Jiangsu province convened the National Conference on the Development of Sports Tourism and the Promotion of Tourism in Jiangsu, co-staged by CNTA and General Administration of Sport. CNTA vice chairman Li Shihong, vice head of the General Administration of Sport Zhao Yong and Jiangsu’s vice governor Chen Zhenning attended and addressed the conference.
At the conference, CNTA and General Administration of Sport jointly released the first batch of national demonstration bases for sports tourism and national sports tourism events as well as the Action Plan for the Development of Sports Tourism under the Belt and Road Initiative. Besides, the two co-issued the Plan on the Development of Sports Camps for Self-Drive Tours with other departments involved and signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Development Bank and the Agricultural Bank of China, respectively. Li Shihong and Zhao Yong conferred the plaque to the first 15 national model units of aviation camps.
Among the 500-plus audience were senior officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Transport, State Forestry Administration, financial institutions such as China Development Bank and the Agricultural Bank of China, tourism and sports heads from provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, representatives of national demonstration bases for sports tourism, organizers of national sports tourism events, representatives of member units of national sports tourism industry bases, as well as entrepreneurs, experts and local officials.
