Du Jiang Meets with the Brazilian Delegation
On January 9 in Beijing, CNTA vice chairman Du Jiang met the visiting Brazilian delegation headed by Passos, head of the Brazil-China Deputy Goodwill Group of the Chamber of Deputies.
Du welcomed the guests on behalf of CNTA chairman Li Jinzao and said, "Brazil is a popular destination for Chinese tourists. The Olympic Games last year cast Brazil under the world's spotlight. As our outbound travel has exploded in recent years, we would like to share development opportunities with Brazil. We hope your government would intensify publicity efforts in China and provide more conveniences for Chinese tourists. We welcome Brazilian tourists to China and plan to set up a representative office in Brazil to facilitate bilateral tourism exchange and cooperation."
Passos said his government highly valued China as a key partner in tourism investment and had done a lot to simplify visa procedures, improve catering services and other tourist services, and diversify tourism products to lure more Chinese tourists.
Also present at the meeting were senior officials from CNTA Department of Tourism Promotion and International Liaison.
