Li Keqiang sends congratulatory message to the opening of China-Australia Tourism Year Congratulatory Message to the Opening of China-Australia Tourism Year
By Chinese Premier Li Keqiang
(February 5, 2017)
I would like to take this opportunity to extend our warmest congratulations to the unveiling of the Tourism Year program on behalf of the Chinese government and in my own name as well as our New Year greetings to the hospitable and friendly Australian people.
People-to-people exchange is one of the pillars supporting the development of China-Australia relations. To my great pleasure, China and Australia have grown into a popular tourist destination for each other and in last year alone the two-way personnel exchange reached nearly two million visits. I hope that we would make the best of this Tourism Year, broaden and deepen communication and cooperation in extensive areas and further consolidate the popular basis for the all-round development of Sino-Australian relations.
China and Australia both hold high regard for cultural diversity of the world. We would like to join hands with the Australian government, on top of our sound diplomatic relations in the past 45 years, to protect world peace and regional stability, and produce more fruits and greater benefits from win-win cooperation for both Chinese and Australian people by continuing to uphold principles of equality, inclusiveness, openness and mutual learning.
I wish the China-Australia Tourism Year a complete success.
