Li Jinzao Meets with Danish Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs
On February 24, CNTA chairman Li Jinzao held a meeting with Danish Minister for Industry, Business, and Financial Affairs Mr. Brian Mikkelsen who was in Beijing for the opening ceremony of China-Denmark Tourism Year. The two exchanged views on how to translate the consensus between their state heads and make the tourism year program a great success. Also present at the meeting were Danish Ambassador to China Mr. A. Carsten Damsgaard and CNTA vice chairman Du Jiang.
According to Li, the long history and exotic culture of Denmark has strong appeal to Chinese tourists. The tourism year program is a joint decision made by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Danish Prime Minister Lars L?kke Rasmussen and has far-reaching implications. It will increase mutual visits, enhance friendship between China and Denmark, boost and deepen cooperation in all sectors and inject new vitality to the comprehensive strategic partnership. He looked forward to closer, more fruitful cooperation with Denmark to create a more convenient, safer and more comfortable environment for mutual visits.
According to Mikkelsen, besides enlarging mutual visits, the tourism year program will promote cultural and artistc exchange and cooperation. He welcomed more Chinese to visit Denmark and said his government would stage colorful tourism and cultural activities, streamline the visa policy and open more direct flights to China.
Other participants of the meeting included CNTA departmental heads, the Danish ambassador to China, and officials from the Danish Ministry for Industry, Business, Tourism and Financial Affairs.
