Du Jiang Pays a Courtesy Visit to President of Madagascar and Receives His Excellency, Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers of Madagascar at the China Pavilion
On the morning of June 9, local time, President of Madagascar H.E. Mr.HeryRajaonarimampianinareceived the visiting CNTA vice chairman Du Jiang at the presidential palace in Antananarivo, the capital city of Madagascar. Du was leading a delegation to the 6thInternational Tourism Fair of Madagascar. The two were accompanied by Chinese ambassador to Madagascar Yang Xiaorong, and senior officials from CNTA Department of Tourism Promotion and International Liaison and local CNTA office.
President Rajaonarimampianina thanked China for accepting the invitation to be the Guest of Honor of the tourism fair and asked the Chinese delegation to remember him and his people to Chinese president Xi Jinping. “Our country abounds in tourism resources and our tourism cooperation with China enjoys broad prospects,” said the president.
Du thanked His Excellency for the meeting and conveyed CNTA chairman Li Jinzao’s greetings. “This event has offered us an opportunity to honor the consensus reached by state heads of both countries. We highly value the opportunity and have made meticulous preparations for the event and received generous support from the Ministry of Tourism and the National Tourism Board of Madagascar and the Chinese Embassy in Madagascar, achieving the desired effect.” Du then briefed His Excellency on the composition of the Chinese delegation, the style of the China Pavilion and Beijing Avenue, as well as a variety of tourism promotion and exchange activities, to which President Rajaonarimampianinalistened absorbedly and responded with high praise.
At 13:30, His Excellency President Rajaonarimampianina, Prime Minister Olivier Mahafaly and nine cabinet ministers including the tourism minister of Madagascar arrived at the site of the tourism fair. Their first stop was the China Pavilion. Accompanied by Du Jiang and Yang Xiaorong, His Excellency enjoyed the show of traditional Chinese culture, visited exhibition booths, and inquired exhibitors about products and services. “I cannot wait to visit China”, His Excellency said humorously, after congratulating on the huge progress attained by the Chinese tourism industry.
