Li Shihong began his remarks by congratulating on the opening of the Expo on behalf of CNTA and its chairman Li Jinzao. He said, “The market is key to tourism development. One must develop the market first in order to stimulate tourism development. And hosting expos is the short cut to boost market development. Thanks to the generous support of the Macao government and other parties concerned, four editions of the expo have been successfully held, with an increasing size, more and more diversified business forms, and growing influence, making it a famous expo in Macao.” He added, “CNTA will earnestly implement the preferential policies for Macao as always and suggest the mainland and Macao better aligning the national tourism development plan with Macao's tourism development plan, jointly exploring the Belt and Road tourism market, carrying out the Tourism+ strategy, boosting the development of diverse industries, deepening tourism cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao bay area, and accelerating the process of building it into a world-class tourist destination.”
According to Fernandes, “This is the 5th year of the expo, a year of golden opportunities for Macao to advance tourism development. With the generous support from CNTA and other parties concerned, Macao will make active use of the expo, accelerate the process of building Macao into a world-class tourism and leisure center and keep elevating its status and increasing its role in national economic development and opening up.”
