Shanhaiguan Scenic Area

Shanhaiguan Scenic Area located 15 km east of Qinhuangdao unban area, built in Hongwu period of Ming Dynasty (1381), is the easternmost of the Great Wall; as an important military fortification in history, it is a pass with complete defense system.

The Great Wall is one of the world's wonders. Shanhaiguan, as the start of the Great Wall, also known as “Tian Xia Di Yi Guan” (The First Pass under Heaven), is an ancient historic city with a collection of historic sites of China and a pleasant summer resort. The main scenic spots consists of Longevity Hill, the Crocodile Lake, the Great Wall of Jiaoshan, Laolongtou, Meng Jiangnv Temple, Meng Jiangnv Garden, Xuanyang Hole and Yansai Lake.
