Contents: The characteristics of the China Domestic Tourism Fair, 2008 were as follows: the theme of the exhibition was clear; the Mayor’s Forum for World Tourism Cities was the highpoint in this domestic tourism fair; regions all over the country participated; industry associations were significantly enhanced; the booth occupancy level greatly improved; professional characteristics were more obvious; the content of the show was more substantial; and the media coverage and atmosphere were ‘rich’. According to incomplete statistics for the fair 14,344 contracts were signed, the number of group trips taken was over 10.48,millon involving an amount of RMB457,64 million; signed 20,955 contacts in intention, the number of people organized in group was over 2.1 million, involving an amount of RMB 1.31653 billion.; tourism professionals attending reached over 55,000 along with 65,000 from the general public, and 40.81 millon copies of publicity materials were distributed during the exhibition. Exhibitors were active in publicity and promotion, business discussion, study and information exchange. The fair comprehensively displayed tourism products and resources and positively promoted domestic tourism development. The success of this tourism fair was significant to showcase the organization and development of Chinese domestic tourism. In summary, considering the successful experience of this year’s China Domestic Tourism Fair, we should plan to make sure the next one will be even better.
