Contents: The 3rd Central China Investment and Trade Expo had as its theme “Sharing Knowledge: Promoting Understanding”. Taking investment and consultation, trade, exhibitions and the “Merchants to the West” Summit as its major areas of coverage the expo highlighted the characteristics of the central region setting up economic and technological exchanges and cooperation platforms for domestic and foreign businessmen and transferring international capital and coastal industries to the central region. During the exhibition, six provinces of the central region signed 673 foreign direct investment projects to attract foreign capital of US$16.169 billion; signed a total of 766 domestic-funded projects to attract RMB245.119 billion; signed a total of US$1.482 billion of export contracts and RMB3.057 billion of domestic trade contracts; signed 26 new contracted projects worth a total of US$3.42 billion; signed 3 labor cooperation projects amounting to US$20.87 million; signed 5 new design and consultation projects worth US$10.06 million; signed 5 new projects with foreign countries totaling US$19.60 million; signed a total of 24 tourism contracts to the value of RMB6.074 billion; and established 16 tourism exchange and cooperation pacts reaching a potential total number of 22.239 million people.
