General Rules for Tourism planning

These standards are formulated to regulate the preparation of the tourism planning, improve the overall tourism planning in China, make it scientific, forward-looking and operable and facilitate the sustainable development of tourism industry.

These standards are the criteria by which the tourism development planning at all levels and the planning of various tourism areas are prepared.

The preparation of these standards is based on the summarization of the planning experience and lessons of domestic tourism with reference to the overseas experience and lessons and is designated to be in line with international tourism, technically and methodologically, while reflecting the characteristics of domestic tourism planning.
