Du Jiang Inspected the Preparation Work for the Golden Week in Shandong

From Jan. 21 to Jan. 22, Du Jiang, Vice-Chairman of China National Tourism Administration, led a team inspecting the preparation work for the upcoming golden week in Ji’nan, Shandong Province. Accompanied by relevant leaders of Shandong Tourism Administration, Ji’nan Municipal Government and tourist enterprises, Du Jiang and his team inspected tourist spots such as Baotu Spring and Daming Lake. During the inspection, he stressed that the tourism sector should make full preparation and concerted efforts to ensure the travel safety as well as the growth of the industry during the upcoming Spring Festival golden week.
After listening to the reports from leaders of the relevant units such as Shandong Tourism Administration and Ji’nan Tourism Administration about the preparation work for the upcoming golden week and the series of measures they had taken in countering the global financial crisis, Du Jiang gave high credit to what the province had done, and he pointed out that various units at all levels in the province had attached great importance to the preparation for the upcoming golden week—they planned early, acted fast, with good guidance, detailed instructions, full preparation, and effective measures, which had brought good benefits, laid a good foundation for ensuring the travel safety, quality, order, and profit of the tourist market during the golden week, and set a good starting point for the smooth and fast development of the tourism industry in 2009. On behalf of CNTA and Chairman Shao Qiwei, he expressed his gratitude for the close attention and support given by the provincial government to the tourism industry and extended his best wishes and spring festival greetings to the personnel working in the tourism industry of the province.
Du Jiang stressed the importance of travel safety. He said that in order to ensure the people having a safe, peaceful spring festival, safety should be the first priority of the country’s tourism industry, and safety awareness, safety measures, emergence handling precautions, and emergence responding mechanisms should be further strengthened so as to eradicate any potential threat to travel safety.
When the inspection team was in Shangdong, Cai Limin, vice Governor of the province, and Chen Guang, assistant Governor of the province, respectively met with Dujiang and the members of his team.
