During his inspection at Kunming Domestic Tourism Company, he listened to the report about impact caused by the financial crisis, actions the enterprise takes and development ideas from related principals. He said, this year, the Spring Festival Golden Week is in an important time when our country takes measures to face the international financial crisis, and the tourism industry should use every conceivable means to do work well in reception, have a good start for tourist development by taking concrete actions. To face the financial crisis and overcome the crisis together, Shao Qiwei raised a claim,
First, We must enhance our confidence. Although financial crisis is producing a lasting impact on tourism in a certain period, the nation's tour industry is still bound with untapped development opportunities. Central policies lay a solid foundation for the stable growth of the industry by expanding domestic market, keeping the market stable while striving to increase the market.
Second, we should never underestimate the difficulties. The financial crisis has not yet achieve the rock bottom, and it will certainly last for some time. The tourist market in both European and American and Southeast Asia are in decline. We should have a good idea of how things stand in face of difficulties.
Third, we should implement relevant policies. The central government has promulgated a series of policies to support economic growth. The tourism sector should carry out serious studies to win more support.
Fourth, we should be more creative. New tactics and concrete practices should be adopted in addressing the crisis. Various policies and measures are taken across the country to boost confidence and promote development of the travel industry. We must learn strengths from each other. The tour industry should unite as one to withstand the "economic winter". Travel agencies, restaurants, hotels and vehicle providing companies should help each other to overcome the difficulties.
Fifth, we should steady the market. All regions are enhancing publicity in an effort to stabilize the tour market. Yunnan should reinforce studies in such field so that new measures of promotion can be promulgated. The tour industry should be one of the industries that are the first and the quickest to recover after the financial crisis.
