Zhu Shanzhong Meets Liu Dashan，General Manager of Nan Kwong (Group) Company Limited

On 1 December, Vice Chairman of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) Zhu Shanzhong met General Manager of Nan Kwong (Group) Company Limited Liu Dashan and his party in Beijing.

Zhu Shanzhong expressed warm welcome to Liu Dashan and his party. After introducing the recent developments in China's tourism industry, he said that Opinions on Quickening the Development of Tourism, which has lately been passed in principle by the State Council, will serve as a major opportunity for the development of domestic tourism. Since the return of Macau, both the Central Government and Macau SAR Government have been attaching great importance to the exchanges and cooperation between mainland China and Macau. CNTA has been maintaining close cooperation with Macau tourism authorities, and a consultation mechanism for tourism cooperation has been established.

Zhu said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of Macau’s return to the motherland, and more frequent tourism contacts between mainland China and Macau could be expected. CNTA will accord with requirements from the Central Government, continue to render support for the development of Macau’s tourism industry, and encourage mainland tourists to travel to Taiwan via Hong Kong and Macau. Expo 2010 will be held in Shanghai next year; Zhu expressed his hope that China Travel Service (Macau) Ltd., subordinate to Nan Kwong (Group) Company Limited, would organize more Macau visitors for the World Expo.

Liu Dashan expressed his appreciation to CNTA for its support to Nan Kwong (Group) Company Limited and China Travel Service (Macau) Ltd. He said that Nan Kwong (Group) Company Limited would continue to boost tourism the exchanges and cooperation between mainland China and Macau, and play an important role in promoting the development of tourism in mainland China and Macau.
