On December 17, Vice Chairman of CNTA Zhu Shanzhong met David Mulroney, Canadian ambassador to China in Beijing. The two sides exchanged their views on issues of common concern.

First of all, the two sides reviewed the matter on China’s declaration of Canada as a tourism destination for the Chinese tourist groups when Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper visited China, and then discussed on the related follow-up work.

Zhu Shanzhong observed that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Canada, the relationship between the two countries has achieved significant development. With abundant tourism resources and magnificent and gorgeous landscape, Canada holds a strong appeal to the Chinese tourists. Making Canada as a tourism destination for the Chinese tourist groups is bound to further increase mutual visits, and make positive contributions in deepening understanding and friendship between the two peoples. China is willing to make concerted efforts with Canadian tourism departments to promote tourism destination-related follow-up work and strive to formally implement the business of the Chinese tourist groups touring Canada as soon as possible.

First of all, Mr. Mulroney expressed his appreciation for the years’ efforts by China National Tourism Administration in facilitating tourism cooperation between China and Canada, and said that as the Canadian Ambassador to China, he’ll serve as a bridge to further deepen tourism cooperation between the two countries. Moreover, he introduced Canada’s major tourism resources and products.
