Zhu Shanzhong meets with Kang Zhezhu, Vice Chairman of National Tourism Administration, DPR Korea

On May 26, Zhu Shanzhong, Vice Chairman of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) in Beijing met with the friendly visiting delegation of Korean National Tourism Administration led by Kang Zhezhu, Vice Chairman of National Tourism Administration, DPR Korea. Kang Zhezhu and his entourage arrived in Beijing after concluding their Red Tourism area tour in Jiangxi. The two sides exchanged views in a cordial and friendly atmosphere on further strengthening tourism exchange and cooperation between China and North Korea.
Zhu Shanzhong, on behalf of CNTA and Shao Weiqi, chairman of CNTA, first welcomed Kang Zhezhu and his entourage. After being informed of the delegation’s expedition to the Red Tourism area in Jiangxi, Zhu Shanzhong expressed that China and Korea are two friendly neighboring countries with profound and traditional friendship. This year is the sixtieth anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Korea diplomatic relations, and the two countries recognize 2009 as “China-Korea Friendship Year”, which provides a good opportunity for developing Sino-Korea tourism cooperation. China is willing to strengthen pragmatic cooperation, constantly promote tourism exchange and cooperation between the two countries, and continue to expand mutual personal visits in the spirit of carrying on traditions, looking to the future, good-neighborly and friendly relations, and enhancing cooperation. The visit is the first of its kind since China and Korea resumed friendly visiting delegation, said Zhu Shanzhong. He wished the delegation a great success.
Kang Zhezhu expressed his thanks for the warm receptions accorded with the delegation in Jiangxi and his appreciation for the achievements made in the development of Red Tourism in China. He said that Sino-Korea friendship is the mutual fortune and a precious legacy nurtured by revolutionists of the old generation. By paying a visit to Jiangxi Red Tourism area, the delegation acquires a detailed knowledge of China’s revolutionary history and tradition. Developing Red Tourism is not only beneficial to the economic development, but also conducive to the patriotism and revolutionary tradition education among the younger generation. Kang Zhezhu said he hoped that the tourism sectors of the two countries enhance their exchange and cooperation and learn from each other, as this year marks the sixtieth anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Korea and the “Sino-Korea Friendship Year”.
