Zhu Shanzhong Meets Investigation Team Dispatched by Macau SAR Government

On July 15, Zhu Shanzhong, Vice Chairman of China National Tourism Administration met the Investigation Team Dispatched by Macau SAR Government in Beijing. The team is led by Huang Zhujun, President of Macau Institute for Tourism Studies.

 

Mr. Zhu, on behalf of China National Tourism Administration, extended his warm welcome to the visit of Huang and her team. Having briefed on the development of mainland tourism industry, Zhu remarked that over the years, CNTA has been extending increasingly wider communication and cooperation with Macau in many fields. In tourism, since 2005, CNTA has been convening meetings with tourism industry in Macau on a regular basis, which proves to be very effective in deepening mutual understanding and reaching consensus between the two sides. With the signature and implementation of the complementary agreement VI to CEPA, tourism cooperation between mainland and Macau has been intensified. Tourism Industry of each side shall reinforce overseas promotion, and encourage more frequent exchange of personnel.

 

Ms. Huang expressed her appreciation for CNTA’s consistent support for the tourism industry of Macau. According to her, in the first half of 2009, Macau SAR Government has organized principals of each department to study in China National School of Administration, and grouped them to conduct investigation and research on public policies. She hoped that CNTA could provide some guidance on the team’s research topic “How to upgrade the service quality and professional ethics of Macau tourist guides”.

 

After the meeting, principals of related divisions and offices of CNTA and the investigation team held a symposium on issues such as how to conduct training, achieve effective management on the tour guide team, regulate operations of travel agencies, and protect tourists’ rights and interests.
