Ministry of Culture and CNTA Jointly Release Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Joint Development of Culture and Tourism

On 23 September, the Ministry of Culture and CNTA jointly released the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Joint Development of Culture and Tourism. Deputy Cultural Minister Ouyang Jian, CNTA Chairman Shao Qiwei, Assistant to Cultural Minister Ding Wei and CNTA Vice Chairman Du Yili attended the meeting for the release.
According to the Guiding Opinions, the Ministry of Culture and CNTA will carry out the “China Culture and Tourism Year” activities with the theme of “Harmonious Win-win Relationship between Culture and Tourism” in 2010. It is planned that the above two authorities, along with the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and Shanghai Municipal Government will stage the “Access the Expo” gala in Shanghai on 1 January 2010. Other events to be co-hosted by the two authorities include: the China International Culture and Tourism Festival aimed at showcasing the achievements made through combining culture and tourism and providing a blueprint for future development of the two sectors, the release of the “List of Culture and Tourism Festivals to be Supported” and the “List of Important National Projects on Culture and Tourism”, and the National Design Contest for Cultural and Tourism Handicrafts (Souvenirs).
The Guiding Opinions will surely further promote the combination of culture and tourism, help create an effective cooperation mechanism, and facilitate new achievements in this field.
