Shao Qiwei Inspects Tourism of Weizhou Island and Beihai City, Guangxi Province

Shao Qiwei pointed out, during recent inspection to tourism of  Weizhou Island of Beihai City , that China island tourism must adhere to the five principles in development, namely, eco-environmental protection foremost, prominent theme of tourism industry, beforehand planning, coordination between hardware and software construction, as well as emphasis on talent development.

As a part of this inspection from January 26 to 28, Shao Qiwei discussed about the tourism therein with leaders of Guangxi Autonomous Region and its Tourism Bureau, Development and Reform Committee, Commission of Land and Resources, Commission of Finance, Commission of Environmental Protection and Beihai Municipal Government. He said that currently national tourism industry is, in accordance with the spirit under State Council’s Opinions on Speeding up the Development of the Tourism Industry, deepening reform and opening up, strengthening co-ordination, transforming mode of development, enhancing quality of development, and striving to cultivate tourism into a strategic pillar industry of national economy and a modern service industry with which the people are more satisfied. He also said that along with China's economic and social development and people's income growth, it is needed to develop a number of leisure and tourism resort zones, including coastal tourism zones and island tourism zones as emphasis for construction and development.
