Shao Qiwei Meets with the Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore Lin Xunqiang and the Senior Administrative Minister of Trade & Industry and Education of Singapore Yi Huaren and Inspects Yacht Wharf

On August 2nd (Singapore time), CNTA Chairman Shao Qiwei, accompanied by the director-general of Singapore Tourism Board Qu Jiabing, respectively met with the Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore Lin Xunqiang and the Senior Administrative Minister of Trade & Industry and the Ministry of Education of Singapore Yi Huaren.
While meeting Lin and Qu, Shao Qiwei indicated that, tourism industry was an industry of strategic importance for both China and Singapore; the tourism industry in both countries realized a two-digit growth in the first half of 2010; in order to weather through the global financial crisis, Chinese government attached more importance to tourism industry and decided to incubate tourism industry as a strategic pillar industry for national economy and a modern service industry that people are satisfied with, and connect it more closely with the first, second and tertiary industry; the purpose of this visit was to learn advanced experience from Singapore (e.g. developing ocean tour, passenger liner and yacht tour and other tour products), further utilize information technologies, and raise the efficiency of market supervision and emergent rescue.
