The 6th China-Japan-South Korea Ministerial Conference on Tourism is held in Gangwon-do

Sub-heading: Agreements reached on topics including the establishment of contingency plan for emergent accidents in tourism, the outlook on the expanded tourism exchange in 2020, tourism proposal and the common development of tourism exchange projects among the three countries, etc.

China-Japan-South Korea Ministerial Conference on Tourism was officially opened in the morning of May 29th. Tourism ministers from the three countries deeply discussed the topics including establishing contingency system for emergent accidents in tourism together, setting up the outlook on the expanded tourism exchange in 2020, signing the proposal of the creditworthy tourism, developing projects jointly to expand tourism exchange among the three countries, etc. On basis of different agreements reached, the three countries signed and published Joint Declaration at the 6th China-Japan-Korea Ministerial Conference on Tourism.
Shao Qiwei noted that the Joint Declaration was not only the key achievement of the 6th China-Japan-South Korea Ministerial Conference on Tourism, but also the basic framework of tourism exchange and cooperation among the three countries in the near future, signifying a new step towards the objective of common development and prosperity of tourism. By next year, China and Japan will have enjoyed a normalized diplomatic relation for 40 years, China and South Korea will have enjoyed a diplomatic relation for 20 years. It is believed that the synergy development and deepened cooperation will promote the friendship among people from the three countries, enrich their all-around future partnership, and boom their economic development and better contribute to Asia and even the world’s tourism development.

In the morning on the same day, China-Japan-South Korea Tourism Industry Circles Exchange Conference was held. Presidents of travel associations and representatives of tourism circles from the three countries deeply exchanged ideas and discussed about some mutually concerned issues. In the afternoon, conference participants inspected some places of interest, including Gangwon-do Gangneung, Phonograph Museum and ancient folk houses in North Korean times in Seongyojang, etc.
On May 30th, Wu Wenxue, a party member of China National Tourism Administration, the Director-general of Planning & Finance Department of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), hosted the closing banquet of the 6th China-Japan-South Korea Ministerial Conference on Tourism held in Nami, Chuncheon in South Korea. Altogether around 400 representatives from governments, tourism circles and press media of the three countries attended the conference.
