 In the morning of April 15th, the “China Domestic Tourism Trade Fair 2011”, jointly sponsored by China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) and the People’s Government of Shaanxi province, was unveiled in the Qujiang International Convention & Exhibition Center in Xi’an, Shaanxi province. Zhao Leji, Secretary of Shaanxi Communist Party Committee attended the opening ceremony, and Shao Qiwei, Chairman of CNTA announced the opening of China Domestic Tourism Trade Fair 2011. Lou Qinjian, member of Shaanxi CPC Standing Committee and Vice Standing Governor, and Zhu Shanzhong, Vice-chairman of CNTA, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Leaders of 12 provinces and regions of Shaanxi, Guizhou, Tibet, Gansu, Qinghai, Guangxi, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan and Inner Mongolia also attended the opening ceremony.

Lou Qinjian noted in the speech that "this trade fair is the largest and most extensive tourism fair ever since the birth of the domestic tourism trade fair. With a galaxy of talents, charming landscapes and favorable climate conditions, tourism industry has become an advantageous industry for the economic and social development of Shaanxi." He extended invitations to all guests come to Shaanxi for mutual cooperation and development.

Zhu Shanzhong noted in the speech that this trade fair is just prior to the opening of Xi’an International Horticultural Exposition, which is another grand event following the Olympic 2008 and World Expo 2010 organized in China, and is of great importance for promoting the development of tourism industry in western China. CNTA will enhance its support for the development of the tourism industry in Shaanxi and western China and promote the tourism industry to contribute more to the second ten-year of the West China Development Strategy.

During the domestic tourism trade fair, the tourism administration bureaus and tourism companies in different regions will also launch product introduction conferences to exhibit and promote tourism resources and products in a better way. (Report/photo by Sun Jing)
