Place: Sichuan Province
Activities: Bullfighting, horse races, cockfighting,
sheepfighting, singing contests, beauty contest, wrestling,
local-style dance contest, torch parade and bonfire
party.
2. Horse Race Festival in Qiangtang, Tibet
Dates: The last 10-day period of August (between the
end of the seventh month and the early part of the eighth
month of the Tibetan calendar)
Place: Nagqu Prefecture in Tibet
Activities: Horse races, archery, horsemanship and
material exchange activities will be held.
3. The Torch Festival of the Yi Minority in Yunnan
Province
Dates: June 24-26
Place: Shicun Town of Lunan Yi Autonomous County and
Chuxiong City of Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture,
Yunnan Province
Activities: Tourists can watch performances of the
four-stringed plucked instrument with a full-moon-shaped
sound box and the reed-pipe wind instrument, and can
try the local Dasanxian dance. Other activities such
as archery, horse races, bullfighting, wrestling and
bonfire parties will be held.
