“Revisit the Long March Route” Red Tourism Themed Campaign Launched in Yudu
On December 1, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Long March of the Red Army and honor the instructions given by President Xi Jinping on that occasion, the Party Committee and the People’s Government of Jiangxi province and the CNTA co-launched the travel routes of red tourism themed “Revisit the Long March Route” at the square in memory of the starting of the Long March of the Central Red Army in Yudu county, Ganzhou city, Jiangxi. CNTA Party secretary and chairman Li Jinzao, and Zhao Liping, member of the Standing Committee and propaganda chief of Jiangxi Provincial CPC Committee, attended and addressed the launch ceremony which was chaired by CNTA vice chairman Wei Hongtao.
Li introduced that the select travel routes of the Long March spanning across more than half of China mostly went through the central and western regions, were key part of the national red tourism product system and the national efforts to promote poverty alleviation through tourism, and presented key opportunities for us to advance the structural reform of the supply side in the tourism industry and the development of holistic tourism.
He stressed that, “Today we gather in Yudu not only to commemorate the great Long March 80 years ago, but also to make a solemn promise to carry forward the Long March spirit. We believe that the release and revisit of these travel routes will help us better utilize the red tourism resources along the Long March route, carry forward the Long March spirit and the revolutionary tradition, and contribute more to poverty reduction in old revolutionary bases along the Long March route.”
Based on the Long March route taken by the Central Red Army, the CNTA officially released select travel routes of red tourism, including one trunk route and eight thematic ones (namely Ruijin, Jiangxi – Xing’an, Guangxi; Xing’an, Guangxi – Zunyi, Guizhou; Zunyi, Guizhou – Luquan, Yunnan; Luquan, Yunnan – Luding, Sichuan; Luding, Sichuan – Xiaojin, Sichuan; Xiaojin, Sichuan – Ruo’ergai, Sichuan; Ruo’ergai, Sichuan – Wuqi, Shaanxi; Wuqi, Shaanxi – Huining, Gansu and Xiji, Ningxia)
Together with Li Jinzao and Zhao Liping, director Chang Bo of the Publicity and Education Bureau of the CPC Central Committee Publicity Department, deputy director Mao Naiguo of the Publicity Bureau of the Political Work Department of the Military Commission of the CPC Central Committee, deputy director Li Guiguang of the Preferential Treatment Bureau of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, vice governor of Jiangxi Xie Ru, director Ding Xiaoqun of Jiangxi Provincial Commission for Tourism Development, deputy Party secretary and mayor of Ganzhou Zeng Wenming conferred the flag to the first visitor group.
